6) Asexual people just like the attention and want to stand out of the crowd. Or maybe you’re just gay.
6) Hardly anyone knows about asexuality, so they rarely receive any attention at all. They don't want to stand out, they simply want to be themselves and not conform to societal norms just because they are told to when that's not how they internally identify. Also, identifying as gay and asexual are completely different identities. People who are asexual often still have relationships. These relationships can be heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, etc.

7) You just haven't found the right person yet.
7) This better describes a demisexual, which is someone who doesn't experience sexual attraction to until they meet the right personal and know them on a deep level. (To view more about demisexuality please visit the "what is it" tab). Asexuals do not feel sexual attraction towards anyone. Some asexuals are in very happy relationships with the "right person" and still don't have the desire to engage in sex. It's not about the right person, it's about the lack of desire.
8) Asexuals think they're above those who do have sex. Asexuals think no one should have sex and hate those who do.
8) Just because people who identify as asexual don't have sexual desire doesn't mean that know one should have sex. Asexuals don't expect or want everyone to follow them. Asexuality is an identity, not necessarily a simple choice. You should only identify as asexual if you truly believe that's how you fit. Some asexuals may personally think that sex is awkward or gross, but they don't think no one should do it. They acknowledge that sex can be a wonderful thing, it's just not for them.

9) Being unwilling to reproduce is a sin. You must be ill or damaged in some way.
9) First of all, there are other ways to reproduce besides having sex. Also, asexuality is not something that needs to be fixed. This misconception shows just how important sex is in our society. Clearly everyone loves sex, how could you not? No. This is not true at all. No one can deny that there are people who are naturally more sexual than others. Sexuality lies on a spectrum and there are some people who are over-sexual, so why can't there be people who don't want to have sex at all? Asexuality is not a disease or a disorder. Just because it is outside of the norm, it is still an identity.
10) Asexuality is just a phase. You're too young to know your true identity yet.
10) Asexuality is not a phase, it is an internalized identity. Why are asexual youth too young to know who they are, but heterosexual youth aren't? While it is true that many people don't fully encompass their true identity until they're older, it doesn't mean that realizing your identity at a younger age is impossible. No one can tell you when you are or aren't allowed to decide how you identify. It is different for everyone.
